Rajinikanth

Rajinikanth turns a year older in style today. Here’s a time when Bollywood stars had nothing but praise for the Kollywood star.

Superstar Rajinikanth turned a year older on December 12. In real life he may show signs of ageing, but on screen he will always be the unbeatable superstar Rajini for his fans. After all, who else can put a negative person in their place with a simple punch line,

“En vazi, thani vazi! (My way is my own)” Many children of the 90s even break sunglasses when they grow up, in the hope that they will wear them like Rajini someday. Even Bollywood superstars are no laggard when it comes to praising a star, we can see why!

Rajini sir is irreplaceable: Aamir Khan

What many may not remember is that Aamir Khan was approached for the lead role in Shankar’s 2.0, the sequel to Robo. However, the actor turned down the role not because of the script, but because he felt that the roles of Vaseegaran and Chitti could not be played by anyone else.

Speaking to ETC Bollywood in 2017, he said, “Rajini sir then realized that he was not healthy enough to shoot the film and suggested that Shankar cast me in the film. But, when I closed my eyes, I could only see Rajini sir.” The role, he is irreplaceable. I have read the script, the film will be a superhit. However, I didn’t believe anyone else could succeed. It was not a difficult decision to turn down because I am his fan.

Rajinikanth is like family: Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh talks about Rajini at IFFI 2019 in Goa; They starred together in the 1991 film Hum. Opening up about their equation, he said, “I consider Rajinikanth ji as a member of my family. We keep in touch and talk often. Sometimes he asks me for advice and vice versa.” Amitabh also jokingly said that neither of them follow the advice given.

“There are moments when I tell him not to do something, but he still does it. But thank you Rajni for being with me. You are an incredible source of inspiration. He was such a humble person, he came from such humble beginnings. He inspires us every day.”

I will say whatever I want to say to him: Hrithik Roshan

Rajinikanth shared the screen with Hrithik, who was a child actor at the time, in the 1986 film Bhagwan Dada. Speaking to a news channel in 2017, Hrithik had once said, “I used to say whatever I wanted to him as if he was my friend during the shooting of Bhagwan Dada.

He was very kind at that time because he forgave many things that I did or said. I clearly remember that whenever I made a mistake and the director (my grandfather) would cut the shot, Rajini sir would apologize so that I would not feel bad. I remember having so much love in my heart now because he kept my faith.
